Supreme Dominator NZ “Dom”

Here he is folks: handsome, intelligent, willing and kind – Dom’s got it all and he’s ready to share his talents with his new family.

Dom retired from a very successful career in harness racing, where he travelled the countryside and was exposed to many sights and sounds as a top-tier racehorse.

Dom took this life experience and ‘can-do’ attitude into his new home, when he was rehomed in July 2024.

Dom was broken to saddle several months ago and transitioned well into ridden life, cited by his rider to have ‘the most fantastic work ethic’ and the kind of horse to always put his best foot forward (he really tries and gives 100%).

‘A dominator at everything he does’, Dom revels in consistent work and best suits a home where he will be ridden regularly.  As a green (canter work still being developed and he’s only had one outing – where he won his classes), highly-intelligent horse with a big future, Dom will require a soft, confident and experienced rider to nurture his continued education and capable of riding him calmly through any quirky moments.

With his current owner’s circumstances changing, Dom has been returned to his harness stable – as per an agreement with his racing family, who adore him – to await the next lucky person to take his reins and reach for the stars on this incredibly clever, talented standardbred.

Dom has qualified for the upcoming 2024/205 Alabar Hero Series Final to be contested in January, he is sound and ready to get on and enjoy.

As mentioned, Dom is very special to his racing connections and he is being rehomed with a contract in place stipulating that Dom always has a secure home (his harness stable) to return to at any time in the future, should he need to change hands.
