Fred is a stunning standardbred gelding, recently retired from harness racing and now looking for a special home where he can truly shine.
Fred is beautifully mannered, calm and sensible. He’s the kind of horse you can do anything with, and his gentle & affectionate nature makes him easy to fall in love with.
Fred retired sound from racing, showing signs of discomfort only at full race speed (no outright lameness, just ‘hanging’ and giving signs he was not fully comfortable under the high pressure of fast work), but he has remained sound when strutting around the paddock and in his jog work.
Fred has outstanding movement, with a big, floaty trot and the kind of presence that turns heads. Coupled with his ‘bling’, he will make an outstanding show prospect in the right hands.
Fred has been fortunate to have been purchased as a youngster by a harness family who have utterly adored and taken the very best of care of him throughout his entire career. Rehoming Fred is a bittersweet decision, but one made out of love and respect for the kind and clever horse he is.
Incredibly handsome horses with exceptional temperaments and quality movement are simply too special to spend their days standing in a paddock. Fred deserves an amazing home, with his very own person to build a bond with and enjoy a wonderful life beyond the track, as a show, performance or pleasure partner.
