Kheiron, known affectionately as James, is a striking and athletic gelding with presence, power and a big personality to match. A beautiful, ‘typey’ bay/brown, he is the sort of horse that turns heads wherever he goes.
A genuine performer throughout his racing career, James has that unmistakable spark seen in horses who know their own ability. He is intelligent, expressive and thrives on connection with an experienced handler who understands a thinking horse.
Like many of the most talented equine athletes, James has plenty of character. He can be grumpy on occasion and enjoys testing boundaries in a playful way, but once a routine and relationship are established he is a pleasure to have around. He’s great to shoe, float, rug and clip and has spent plenty of time on the treadmill, all handled with ease.
James is sound, healthy and in excellent condition. He has had the very best care, with his feet trimmed and teeth done in October, worming, Tetanus/Strangles vaccinations completed in September and a full history since birth, as he was bred, raised and raced in the one small harness stable.
Whilst he has not been ridden, James’ athletic build suggests enormous potential for the right person. He is best suited to an experienced, confident home where his intelligence will be appreciated and his energy channelled into purposeful work.
Those who know horses understand that the quirky ones are often the most brilliant and James fits this mould perfectly. With the right partnership, he could become something truly special; the ‘heart horse’ of his next person’s lifetime (as he’s been for his racing family).
A forever home is being sought for this special boy. His breeders adore him and would keep him forever if not for his natural drive and love of having a job to do. They’ve made the thoughtful decision to give him the chance to find a beautiful home beyond the track, where he can enjoy many years of adventures ahead with someone who will cherish him as much as they have.
James will leave for his new home with the security of a paddock to return to, should he ever need it.
