HRV Hero horses are submitted to a pre-screening check prior to entering the program to ensure the horse is of sound mind and body and fit for purpose. Each horse is required to have a minimum of 6 weeks retraining prior to finding their new home.
Support packages are provided to the owners of standardbreds purchased through the HRV Hero program which include:
- 2 x prepaid (free) riding lessons, to be redeemed with a Hero retrainer
- Complimentary registration and membership with SPPHAV
- Access to online educational resources
- Priority access to Hero events, clinics, and competitions
