A Big Boy with a Big Heart!

Billy is a quirky, playful and curious horse with a larger-than-life personality! He loves playing with his big horse ball and has a habit of picking things up in his mouth to play with them.

Despite his size, Billy’s bravery doesn’t always match up. He needs time to process new things and changes in his environment, but with clear, gentle boundaries and patient support, he grows in confidence. He was leased out to therapy program, Horses For Hope, by his connections 3 years ago, since then he has made incredible progress in his life beyond the track, developing patience and learning to trust. He has worked with people of all ages, gaining experience with new situations while managing his worries.

Billy has seen to have a strong interest in mares and can be a bit dominant at time. As a result, he has been paddocked alone or with other geldings that share a similar temperament.

Billy thrives with a calm, understanding approach. He doesn’t cope well with forceful pressure and needs a kind, patient owner who will offer reassurance, allowing him time to think and process rather than pushing him through situations. With the right person, he will continue to flourish and be a loving, loyal companion.
