Only small in stature, a little tousled, but with cuteness to spare, Penny is a 14.2hh, four-year-old mare ready to begin her next chapter.
With her owner realising early that she was not cut out for racing, Penny retired sound and has spent the past two years enjoying life in the paddock. In a testament to her sensible and willing nature, she was first ridden by her octogenarian owner and has since been handled daily for the past month, taking each new experience calmly and confidently. She is also serving as a companion to a weanling filly, further demonstrating her kind temperament and relaxed attitude around other horses.
An easy keeper who enjoys her feed, Penny is an uncomplicated young mare with a sweet disposition, however she can be headshy until she gets to know you. She has been exposed to dogs, livestock, machinery, vehicles and children, and takes these everyday sights and sounds in her stride.
As Penny has only been ridden once, she is not suited to beginner riders. Instead, she is looking for a knowledgeable and confident home where her education can continue at a steady pace, allowing her the time and guidance needed to develop into a well-rounded riding horse.
