HRV Hero launches initiative with more options for standardbreds

Kima and Buster

Harness Racing Victoria’s Hero program has announced an exciting initiative to coincide with the launch of its new website.

The Direct Off The Track (DOTT) program acts as a link between harness racing industry participants looking to rehome a standardbred and experienced riders looking for a new best mate. The new process means standardbred owners no longer have to wait for a space with a HRV Hero retrainer.

Owners can submit a horse via the online Hero DOTT Form, provide information about the horse’s history, temperament, talents and quirks as well as photos to create a detailed horse profile, which will increase the chances of attracting the perfect new home.

Riders interested in a particular horse should submit a Hero Horse Enquiry form to HRV Hero staff to maintain a level of confidentiality for the horse’s connections.

Applications will be forwarded to the person who nominated the horse so they can consider the information and contact prospective riders directly to negotiate a sale or rehoming.

As with all HRV Hero retrained horses, DOTT owners will receive a HRV Hero pack, which includes educational information and a few goodies from Hero sponsors.
